CHRIST FIRST KIDS - Christ First Baptist Church loves kids!!!
This is a place where children are valued, loved and discipled as they journey to maturity in Christ. Children are nurtured into a personal relationship with Christ and encouraged to begin changing their world for Christ (no matter what age)!
Sundays
Loving nursery care is available for infants 6 weeks to 30 months. Our nursery is qualified and caring adults that have experience with infants and their needs. The facility is equipped with a pager system so that you can be accessed anywhere on our campus if your little one has a need.
Preschool Programs are offered throughout the morning from 9am to Noon for children 2½ through Kindergarten. Your preschooler will learn that they are loved by God and to love others through Bible Stories, singing and play.
Elementary students meet at 9am in Room 204 for a time of singing and age appropriate classes. They should be picked up after the first hour programs for fellowship with the church family. Families that come to our 10:45 service bring their children for the first portion of the worship service. Children are excused to a special Children's worship service in Room 202. This is where parents can sign out their kids at the end of the morning.
Wednesdays
Children's Choir for grades Kindergarten and up meets at 5pm in the choir room. This choir performs regularly throughout the year and learns music theory, drama and has a good time. Children can stay for dinner with the church family at 6pm for $1.50.
TeamKID meets from 7:00-8:30pm in CE 204 for 4 yrs-5th grade. Cost is $40 for the year which includes a T-shirt and workbook. This is an interactive “club” program that includes games, Bible lessons, activities and snacks. Children will learn how to be better disciples of Jesus.
Throughout the year Christ First Kids gets together for special events, camping and Vacation Bible School. We look forward to connecting with your kids, so come check us out in the CE building.
CHAOS – Middle School Ministry
“Christ Has All Our Solutions”-6th-8th grade
CHAOS meets on Sundays at 9am with the High School students to sing, worship, and then break off for in-depth bible study. Wednesday Nights start at 7pm where we meet for fellowship, crazy games, a lesson, and finally meet in small groups led by our incredible small group leaders. Our ultimate goal is to ensure a safe and comfortable place where Middle School students are simply allowed to be themselves. Through the love of Christ working through every leader, it is our prayer that every student will walk away different than when they walked in. We also have various events and guys/girls nights that happen throughout the year. Student Impact is for those students who truly want to impact not only our church, but our community through service and worship. We meet the first Sunday of the month. Come check us out in the CHAOS room in the upstairs CE Building room 207.

CFHS – High School Ministry
These years are exciting, challenging, fun and many times difficult. We want HS students to begin a new relationship with Christ or grow in their existing relationship with Him. We call it R2 or Relationship squared…that every relationship would grow in maturity and depth, first with Christ and then with others (parents, caring leaders, pastors, friends, siblings and the world). CFHS meets 3 times during the week; Wednesday nights for our large group time at 7pm in CE room 209, Sunday mornings for worship and study at 9am, and during the week we have our @ groups that are smaller and offer accountability. Throughout the year we have other opportunities to go to camps, retreats, all-nighters, service projects, mission trips to spend time with each other and grow together.

MUSIC & ARTS MINISTRIES
The Chancel Choir is the oldest and largest musical organization at Christ First Baptist Church. It serves as the worship leader of the Sunday 9:00 a.m. services and once a month in the second service. The choir sings on Sundays September through June and has three major concert/presentations a year. The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Childcare is provided.
The Worship Band & Teams are diverse groups of singers and instrumentalists. It serves as the worship leader of the Sunday 10:45 a.m. service through the entire year. The singers rehearse with the Chancel Choir on Thursday from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. and with the instrumentalists from 8:15 - 9:00 p.m. Instrumentalists rehearse from 8:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Celebration Handbells ring for rehearsal on Thursday nights from 6-7:30 p.m. and ring monthly for the worship services during the school year. Musical knowledge is preferred.
The Drama team is a group of actors interested in doing small and large drama for Sunday worship services and special productions. Rehearsals are Wednesday 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
MEN'S MINISTRIES
As Christian men we desire to express our faith in Jesus Christ through fellowship, worship and service. We also seek to commit our lives under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Men of Action is a multigenerational Christ-centered ministry open to all men of the church, dedicated to uniting men through vital relationships to be Godly influences in their world.
WOMEN'S MINISTRIES
Hebrews 10:22 calls us to draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith. Women's Ministries of Christ First Baptist encourages ladies of all ages to be a part of our faithful and fun fellowship. There are many ways to be involved from Circles of Concern, Church in the Community, Personal Growth & Development events, Women's Retreat, Spring Luncheon, Christmas Tea and more. Our Hallelujah Hatties, a Red Hat chapter, also meets regularly. We invite you to join us in our ministries as we encourage one another to be the women God wants us to be.
XYZ - SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY
Xtra Years of Zest is a Senior Adult Ministry of Christ First Baptist Church of Covina. This group of vibrant senior citizens meets the second Tuesday of each month for a delicious lunch and uplifting entertainment. In the past, the program has included “Better Days Band” singing country music; Joe Tatar, the one-man band; and opera star, Maria Del Pilar. The facilitators of XYZ are Shelley & Isobel Houghton, who display a special gift for ministering to this age group.
Once a year, the XYZ group plans a get-away for several days. They have traveled to the Caribbean, Branson, Yosemite, Grand Canyon and more! If you are age 55 or older, you may want to seek out this wonderful group of fun-loving friends!
