What is a Life Group?
Life Groups are small groups of approximately six to fourteen individuals that meet weekly in someone’s home to connect, look at God’s Word, and pray together. The individual groups often organize outings, events, and service opportunities. They are for adults of all ages, stages of life, and spiritual maturity.
How do I join a group?
Please email groups@christ-first.org or call the church at 626-339-7378, and we will help you find a group that best fits your schedule and life stage.
Is childcare available during our group meetings?
Though we value children, our group environments are not an ideal place for children. Our discussions are adult-oriented, and this is valuable time for you to invest in your personal growth and relationships. You will need to secure childcare for your children or attend a group that provides for childcare. Some groups come together to share (and lessen) the expense for childcare or have group members rotate to watch the group’s children. Please contact Nicole Hurte, if you need more suggestions or help to find a sitter at groups@christ-first.org.
What do we study and do I need to know the Bible?
Depending on the group, you'll dive deeper into the Bible or you'll focus on the previous week's sermon. This allows for a time to ask questions and discuss personal application. Everyone is welcome regardless of what they know about the Bible, and a Life Group is a great place to learn how to use a Bible with friends helping you.
What if I don’t like the group or it doesn’t feel like a good fit?
You are welcome to "try out" some of the groups before you decide which one is the right fit for you and where God wants you. We encourage you to commit and really immerse yourself in the relational aspect of Life Groups. They are an important part of the life of our church and it really helps you connect with God, the Church, and yourself on a deeper level.
